About ADA Title II and IMT-1300

Guidance and Help

UC and UCI have resources available to help us learn what we need to know and help us test and verify accessibility compliance. Online trainings are available in UCLC, Siteimprove, and other online learning products licensed by the campus. Staff who author or support website content should sign up for free UC-licensed Siteimprove accounts to test and monitor department websites. A simple action plan like the one below can help you get started on the right track.

  1. Learn what digital accessibility is and its best practices.
  2. Know your responsibility based on role so you can contribute effectively and support others.
  3. Read ADA and UC tips on getting started:
  4. Make a plan of action, e.g.
    • Train everyone so everything produced, procured, or published from this point forward will be accessible.
    • Identify, test, and verify digital accessibility for 'important' priority content and systems, e.g. required, safety, or high traffic items such as home pages and navigation.
    • Link to accessibility.uci.edu or a custom accessibility page to make it easy to report issues or ask for assistance.
