ADA Title II

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II is a federal requirement for state and local government to provide people with disabilities equal access to resources, services, and information. Electronic resources must meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Failure to comply may be considered discrimination and subject to action by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

IMT-1300

Information Management and Technology policy 1300 (IMT-1300) is a UC systemwide policy requiring all institutions and locations to ensure that all of their information technology websites, systems, and information meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and that each location establishes an IT Accessibility Policy Program (ITAPP) to provide guidance and enforcement of this policy.

NOTE : A 2025 revision to this policy is currently under final review and should be announced very soon. The new version is more explicit and clearly states the April 2026 deadline and compliance criteria.
